Thermage uses monopolar radiofrequency — a single, large electrode that sends RF energy deep into the dermis while simultaneously cooling the skin surface. This controlled heating at 65–75°C stimulates immediate collagen contraction and triggers long-term neocollagenesis.

The Thermage FLX upgrade includes AccuREP technology that automatically calibrates energy delivery for each treatment pulse, and a vibration element in the tip that dramatically reduces discomfort.

Unlike HIFU which targets the SMAS layer, Thermage heats a broad volume of the deep dermis, making it especially effective for full-face smoothing, skin quality improvement, and large-area body treatments.
